BHC Core Beliefs

Bible

Our Creed, Discipline, Rule of Order & Doctrine is the Word of God as taught and revealed by the Holy Ghost. (John 14:26; I Corinthians 2:14)

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

God

We believe in one eternal, omnipotent God who is completely holy. Further, that He has changed His name to suit the dispensational needs of his people, and that His present dispensational name is the Lord Jesus Christ; also … “for in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” (Colossians 2:9)

Jesus

We believe in the “Virgin Birth”, that Jesus was both human and divine –Mary’s son, Mary’s God; God manifested in the flesh. (John 1:1, 14)

We believe in the death, burial, and bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, further that He lives today, and fills with His spirit those who seek Him.

Salvation

We believe it is essential for everyone to have a “new” or “second” birth – to be born of the water AND of the spirit. (John 3:5)

The proper, of scriptural, way to be born of the water is to be immersed (baptized) in water in the name of Jesus Christ. To be born of the Spirit is to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:4, 38)

Fellowship

We believe in Holy Communion, or “The Lord’s Supper”, and Washing of Feet, as instituted by Jesus. (Mathew 26:26-29; John 13:4-17)
